At the end of April, ITLAS Società Benefit received its first EcoVadis scorecard, with an overall score of 73/100 (86th percentile). It also received a silver medal, ranking among the top 15% of companies assessed by EcoVadis that have achieved the highest scores over the past 12 months.
EcoVadis is the leading international sustainability rating platform, which assesses the ESG performance of companies across the supply chain, helping businesses to manage and improve their own impact and that of their suppliers. It analyses policies, actions and results relating to the environment, labour practices, human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The EcoVadis platform is a SaaS (Software as a Service) solution based on international standards. Participation is voluntary (it is not a legal requirement): today, an increasing number of companies require their suppliers to undergo EcoVadis assessment as part of their sustainable procurement programmes. However, voluntary participation also means enhancing one’s reputation, increasing transparency, reducing ESG risks, facilitating entry into new supply chains and, why not, turning sustainability into a competitive advantage.
The score obtained from the assessment (0–100) reflects the quality of the company’s sustainability management system at the time of evaluation. The data is reviewed periodically. The aim, however, remains improvement, which is easily identifiable thanks to the breakdown by area.
Medals are awarded according to the percentile achieved: Platinum for the top 1% (the 99th percentile or higher), Gold for the top 5% (the 95th percentile or higher), Silver for the top 15% (the 85th percentile or higher) and Bronze for the top 35% (the 65th percentile or higher). No medal is awarded if the score for the category is below 30 in any of the four areas.
In detail, ITLAS achieved a score of 77/100 in the Environment category, 75/100 in Labour Practices and Human Rights, 65/100 in Ethics and 64/100 in Sustainable Procurement. These results reinforce the company’s commitment to its sustainability journey and serve as a stimulus for growth across all measured areas.
